As part of prevention measures for the deadly Covid-19, it has become a must for everyone to wear a face mask when entering malls, shops or entities.
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.
Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.
The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces.
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
We witnessed a man between the ages of 35 – 45 years who was supposed to have a meeting with in one of the big firms in Accra last week Thursday but unfortunately, he was not wearing a face mask so securities didn’t allow him to enter the premises. He was asked to get the mask, wear it before he will be allowed.
Few minutes later, the gentleman came back with the face mask on. He came to meet some people who are being checked to be sure they are safe to enter.
I realized the gentleman wasn’t feeling comfortable with the face mask, before it could get to his turn to enter the premises, he collapsed!
The security guards quickly got some water and poured it on him until he came back to life. He was checked by the first aid team in the premises and everything was alright but there was this odour coming from his mouth.
With no shame, he confessed that: “I never knew people suffer like this when i talk to them” he said! If my own mouth can make me go off, i pity my family and other people around me”!
He wasn’t able to have his meeting since he was soaked wet, he had to return home and take care of himself.
We have been informed that, he did pledge to take toothpaste and brush as his lord and personal savior.
